FITNESS CENTER

 

Check with the office staff for a code to access during the winter months.
We ask you use the fitness center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Fitness at Pinewood Country Club is more than just golf, it includes a modern 1,000 square foot, state-of-the-art fitness center. Equipped with a full array of Precor USA cardiovascular machines, Body Solid weight training equipment, and a complete selection of free weights. Our top-of-the-line equipment is always kept clean, operational, and is user friendly.
Use of Fitness Center is at your own risk.  

Fitness Center Rules

Introduction The Fitness Center is solely for the use of Golf and Sports Members,their family. Guests of Golf and Sports are allowed if they have paid the appropriate daily fee. There are no special circumstances where the fee will be amended for long-term Fitness Center guest usage. See the Guest Policy in the Membership Information for additional information.
 
PCC DOES NOT EMPLOY AN ATTENDANT BUT MAY AT TIMES HAVE A REMOTE CAMERA IN OPERATION FOR SECURITY AND MONITORING PURPOSES. MEMBERS AND GUESTS UTILIZE THE FITNESS CENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK AND AS SUCH SHOULD TAKE CAUTION WHEN USING THE FITNESS CENTER AND EQUIPMENT.

Children of Members aged 12 and younger are not permitted in the Fitness Center. Eligible Members, their family, and guests must be at least 13 years of age to be in the Fitness Center. Children of the age 13, 14, and 15 are only permitted when accompanied by their parent or legal guardian member at all times.
 
Members are responsible for the conduct of their family and guests and for any charges they may incur. Members are liable for damages to any Club property that they, their family, or guests may use.
 
The hours of operation of the Fitness Center are typically the same hours as PCC’s front desk is open during in-season operations and will vary throughout the winter season. Hours of operation and closings are listed in the various PCC publications or website and may be posted around the Clubhouse. Hours are subject to change.
 
To access the Fitness Center, Members are required to sign-in at the reception area of the Clubhouse and obtain a wristband and the daily combination for access.
 
As a courtesy to others, cell phones should be placed on vibrate or mute when in the Fitness Center. Cell phone use is not permitted in the Fitness Center. As a courtesy, when in an area populated with other Members, we request that you take your conversation to an area where you cannot be overheard, such as an outside area.
 

Dress Code

Proper fitness attire is required.
Shoes must be close toed with non-marking soles.
  • No clothing with buttons, buckles, belts, snaps or zippers that could tear up upholstery or get caught on equipment.
  • No un-seamed sleeveless shirts or tank tops for men. Hemmed sleeveless workout shirts are acceptable. Undershirts with or without sleeves and cut offs are against dress code.
  • Fitness attire is not acceptable inside the Clubhouse, except when checking in.
 

Food and Beverage

  • Only water or other liquids in a plastic bottle with a sealable cap are permitted.
  • No food is allowed in the Fitness Center.
 

Medical Considerations

 
PCC suggests Members consult a physician before starting an exercise program for the first time or when making a major change to an existing program.
 
The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that you see your doctor before engaging in vigorous exercise if two or more of the following apply:
  • You are a man older than age 45 or a woman older than age 55.
  • You have a family history of heart disease before age 55 in men and age 65 in women.
  • You smoke or you quit smoking in the past six months.
  • You haven't exercised for at least 30 minutes, three days a week for three months or more.
  • You are overweight or obese.
  • You have high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
  • You have impaired glucose tolerance, also called prediabetes.
 

Use of Equipment

Use of all equipment is at your own risk.
  • Contact the Front Desk with any questions on how to use the equipment.
  • Report any damaged or broken equipment to the General Manager.
  • Please be courteous of others by wiping down the equipment and replacing equipment and weights after each use.
  • If you are performing multiple sets on a station and someone else is waiting to use that station, allow them to work in. Conversely, if you are waiting to use a station, ask politely if you may work in with the Member using it.
  • Dropping or throwing weights is not allowed.
  • No standing, stepping or resting feet on upholstered equipment.
  • Keep feet off mirrors.
  • Horseplay, profanity, disruptive conduct and eating in the exercise areas are strictly prohibited.
